What it's like to work with me.
I enter every experience with certain goals in mind: collaboration, beauty, and truth. I meet you in that place.
My shooting philosophy is to capture magic. I love messy windswept hair, crashing waves, crinkly nose smiles and belly laughs. I love interlocked fingers, tears, quiet moments, and kissing like no one is watching. I love the beautiful mess that comes with chaotic family sessions and the romance of honeymoon photos. I love giving you memories that I hope will last generations.
This may sound cliché and cheesy, but I don't go into this as a vendor and don't want you to feel like a client. I don't want you to feel like you hired me to preform a service. Photography is art. We will have a mutual relationship with the intention of creation. I truly love everyone I work with, because I want to capture your love. It is impossible for me to separate myself from the process, because I need to be fully present in order to create in my highest state of love and emotional energy. Whew. Sounds like a mouthful, but I have found over the years that the more I believe this, the more I find it to be true.
Let's face it, life happens and it happens fast and things can change in a second but that's the beauty you have in your life and in your family. Being in love, getting engaged, being pregnant, giving birth, and creating a family is an incredible thing. This is why I love capturing your moments together. The fun things you guys do as a couple or family.. tell me! You like chillin' in bed and cuddling... bet! You want to go to your favorite fast food spot and eating in the parking lot... bet! You like hiking... I'll grab the water! You love dancing in the rain... let's dance! Taking a day trip... I have a playlist for that! It's the joy of human experience for me! I value connection, tradition, celebration, and love. I want to be a part of that. I want to take all those emotions and feelings and love and keep them forever for you.
During your shoot, I'm like your best friend, your favorite cousin and the cool aunt. I will be your friend forever, because we have created something beautiful and exciting together. This is why I have so much passion for what I do, for love, and for you.
A guided process from start to finish
Consultation & planning
Finding the right photographer to document your family's legacy is a big decision. I want you to get to know me first so we'll chat over the phone before booking to make sure we are a great fit. I can answer all your questions at once. I will send you a welcome guide, provide wardrobe styling assistance, and finalize your location.
Your session
A full guided session so all you have to focus on is making memories with your family. This is where we have a blast! We have fun and do life together. I often tell clients that my sessions are like hanging out with a good friend. We play, we capture emotive images, and we design images that you will be proud to hang up on the walls of your home. My sessions are a good mix of candid/emotive portraits with a sprinkle of posy portraits that are often seen on Christmas cards.
proofing gallery & delivery
Within a week from our session, we will schedule a reveal where you get to see all that we captured together! We will select your favorites together! After that, I will edit and send back your favorites, typically within 3 weeks. However, you are always able to upgrade at this stage if you just can't narrow it down. While, I do online galleries, I am here to help you every stage of the way to find the perfect work of art for your home. I don't just want portraits on a online gallery that are never printed. Helping you choose the perfect artwork for your home and family so it's not left halfway done.

NATURAL
I'm a natural light and lifestyle photographer. This means I'm all about photographing you in the places you love, this places you want to explore, just the way you are. I don't like overly posed photos in lieu of enjoying the actual moment.
Most of the people I work with have never taken professional photos. I will guide you 100% so that you feel comfortable and relaxed. I won't make you stand in the same area for the longer than three minutes. We will move around, dance, run, play, and kiss.
Enjoy
SoCal has so many gorgeous areas, beaches, mountain tops, parks; you're in the middle of photo-worthy beauty. Breathe and enjoy the moment.
A lot of people get really stressed out worrying about the weather, if their kids will cooperate, or if they will look good. You don't need to worry. We can't control the weather, and your kids might be in a bad mood.
Let's go with it. Some of my favorite shoots have been in crazy weather, when kids can't sit still, or when things are simply perfect. We will free our mind from any expectations and worry and in return, each shoot will be unique and special.
You should come away from a session feeling like you've spent some authentic, everyday time with the people you love, and that you just so happened to be photographed at the same time! I work hard to ensure your session never feel like it wasn't you.
Raw
I like photos to be real and raw. Being raw means being authentic. I don't want your photos to feel like a big production.
There is significance in every moment and every minute. I want your photos to show you the sacred second that the photograph was taken, as well as the essence of your family at that time in your life.
